Enteric Coated

Are capsules that have been coated with an acid resistant material that does not break down in the acidic environment of the stomach. Instead, they pass through the stomach intact, and are only activated when in an alkaline environment with a pH of 5.5 or higher – i.e. when they reach the small intestine.

What are the benefits of Enteric Coated Capsules? 

  • Will not dissolve in the mouth

  • Will not irritate the stomach

  • Can preserve enzyme activity

  • Take longer to dissolve
